I've now lost 30 lbs and dropped 3 sizes! I started my focus on June 1. I really think the timing was just right for it to happen. Of course I changed my eating habits, but I increased my yoga to 5 times a week during the summer. You know, I started coming at Christmas 2000. My husband got me a 10 class card for Christmas that year. This is the first physical activity I've ever stuck with and have seen such improvement--and I enjoy it. I'll never forget Denise talking about people wearing their shoulders as earrings--that was me. It has taken a long time to get to where I am, but it has been an incredible experience! Becoming comfortable with ME has led to so many new things that I would never have done before. I have confidence in myself and all the possibilities that are out there. What you guys say is true--you have to break it all down and then rebuild--all with no judgements, just accepting things the way they are today.
I just had a check up with my Dr. and my cholesterol is down 100 points--now 166. My HDL (good) is 101 (normal range is 55-60). LDL (bad) is 54 (should be under 100), and triglycerides are 52 (normal should be under 120). Yoga works!
