As I stared upon my shredded car tire, the words "never let anything steal your peace" rang through my mind. Inhaling deeply, I became conscious of my mind conjuring negative energy. As I exhaled, the web of negative thoughts dissipated.
Later that evening, I compared my reaction to that of a few years ago – when the same thing happened. The difference was quite remarkable. It made me realize my transformation since Bikram Yoga. This time around, I was able to concentrate, react, and salvage a truly unwinnable situation - without being consumed by frustration or anger. Bikram Yoga has taught me to focus on the present. Whether it's during a balancing pose or during one of life's many setbacks.
Before Bikram Yoga, my energy spent engaging in negative thoughts was quite astonishing. Needless to say, they were a constant burden. After my first class, I noticed an immediate difference. Never before had I exercised and come away with a clear mind. I knew after the first day, that it was something to incorporate into my life. The benefits of Bikram Yoga have influenced all aspects of my being. Eighteen months later, I now have a healthier lifestyle, a more successful career, and a smaller belt.
