I had been practicing power yoga for 6 years but I found myself just going through the motions. I needed something more challenging and boy did I find it! My first Bikram class was pretty intense and I remember saying to myself...NEVER again. But something made me return to class again and again.
When I first heard about the 60 day challenge my gut reaction was to run. I felt like I would never be physically strong enough to finish. It seemed so involved. But the challenge-seeking side of me won over and I decided to go for it!
As I moved further into the challenge my practice developed so much.
Each class made me stretch deeper, pushing myself in new ways. I felt stronger physically as well as emotionally and mentally. I have always struggled with a negative body image and I began to feel more confident as each day passed. I felt a part of something bigger than myself. Within those 90 minutes of class all of the chaos of everyday life came to a quiet still peace within me.
The challenge allowed me to gain a whole new appreciation for this yoga and I am so grateful to be a part of it. As I continue my daily practice I feel awakened in life. Bikram yoga has made me stronger and I feel confident that I can take on any challenge that comes my way.
